Summer and winter break are perfect for your kids’ dental appointments. We can examine, protect, and restore their teeth before they go back to school. They can enjoy the summer with clean teeth, with dental sealants that will protect their teeth from sugary snacks they’ll (at least try to) sneak past you.

Summer is also the very best time to start orthodontic treatment as some of the longer starting appointments can be handled without the complication of coordinating with school and sport schedules. It also provides the opportunity to become accustomed to everything new before starting a new school year.

As a friendly reminder, our schedules fill up fast in the summer, so book today! To get the your preferred appointment times.

Dental sealants

Ice cream, fruit juice, coolers, milkshakes — our kids guzzle these down in the summer. If they’re out of the house, or off to grandma’s, or at aunt Susie’s cabin at the lake, you can’t always watch how much they eat or drink. You can’t always tell if they rinse with water afterward, either, to cut down on sugary acids. And you don’t know for sure if they remembered to brush their teeth at night (or, agggh, all week!!!).

Dental sealants go a long way in fortifying your children’s teeth against decay (although they should still brush and floss)!

Staining from swimming

All those chemicals in pool water can leave deposits in your teeth, leading to sudden brown stains. It’s known as swimmers’ calculus, and kids and adults who spend six hours or more at the pool every week may have it. This stubborn stain doesn’t budge with brushing, but we can remove it.

Mouthguards for sports

Parents love it when the kids are outside, pumping their legs and swinging their arms. But we also have that feeling of dread, don’t we? We can only hope for the best and protect them as much as we can. Talk to us about custom-fitted mouthguards for your athletes, or ADA-approved products your kids can use to protect their teeth during sports.

Orthodontics

Take advantage of meeting with our board certified orthodontists, Dr. AJ Ker and Dr. Ari Thanasas. They love the opportunity to educate and demonstrate proper development of the teeth and jaws and help make sense of things when your child’s growth, development, or tooth eruption is going awry. Having treated tens of thousands of Michigan smiles, you can count on them to provide exceptional value to you or your child’s smile of a lifetime.

Orthodontic evaluations are free of charge and the summer is truly the very best time to get all of your orthodontic needs addressed due to the free time associated with school and most sports being on holiday.

See you soon! Have a great summer!
