The doctors and staff at Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontic Specialists of Michigan try to create a special, personal relationship with each family that chooses our office for dental care. That makes it so much harder when sad news arrives regarding one of our patients.
Dr. Jeff Daulton cared for Kimberly Fowler for 20+ years. Kim recently passed away at the age of 26 due to health complications. Her mother informed us and sent a letter to us, thanking us for our donation to the “Walk With Me” hospice program that was made in her memory. The letter stated the following:
“Your kindness is so touching at this time. Kimberly started at your office at around the age of 5 years old. Our family dentist recommended you after he realized she was more than he could handle. As the years progressed, she calmed down and was able to be seen in the special room with Dr. Jeff at the helm. He was the best dentist for us, he answered all of our questions, was kind with Kimberly and so very patient with her. He never rushed the exam and was very thorough.
I wanted to thank you for your practice and for helping other parents like us with special needs children. Many times we are considered a ‘pain’ because our kids don’t fit the ‘normal’ profile and need extra help or time. Please keep up the good work for all the families that need a practice like yours to help with their children. Dr. Jeff Daulton was Kimberly’s doctor for those 20-plus years and we could not have asked for a better professional.”

What Kimberly Fowler’s mother sent to us was heartwarming and deeply moving, and her daughter will always be remembered by Dr. Daulton and others who communicated with her and knew the kind of person she was.
