Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Makowski was born in Hamtramck, Michigan. He studied pre-dentistry at Wayne State University before receiving his D.D.S. from the University of Detroit Dental School in 1980. At graduation, he was nominated to the National Honorary Dental Society Omicron Kappa Upsilon and awarded the Dean’s Key.

He continued his studies at the University of Nebraska Medical Center where he served as Chief Resident. He was also an Associate Professor at the Washington University School of Dental Medicine and Lecturer and Clinical Instructor at the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Makowski joined the group practice in 1987. He is currently on the attending staff at Children’s Hospital of Michigan, St. John Providence and Henry Ford Hospital Macomb. He also serves on the teaching staff at Children’s Hospital of Michigan.

In addition to his many accomplishments, Dr. Makowski has presented scientific exhibits at National Pediatric Dentistry meetings and published definitive articles in national, state and local journals.

Dr. Makowski is certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the American College of Dentists, and the International College of Dentists. He is active in major pediatric dental societies serving as President, Treasurer and Executive Director of the Michigan Academy of Pediatric Dentists. He served as President of the Michigan Dental Association (2014-2015) as well as Treasurer (2011-2013) and member of the Board of Trustees for seven years.
