One of our goals at Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontic Specialists of Michigan is to treat patients that present for dental care with special needs based on their medical history as comprehensively and caringly as any other patient.  They may need a few extra steps or special treatment adjuncts but our use of special procedural safety in controlled environments help make the dental experience a great one.

Special needs in the form of mental, physical, or psychiatric issues are a reality, but we strive to make sure every patient in the community receives the same quality of dental care no matter the circumstances or challenges.  While a special needs designation could be the result of a particular impairment or disability, a genetic development, or part of their medical history caused by an environmental factor, managing and caring for patients that require “special care” is something we take pride in and embrace.

Our office strives to treat everyone in a safe, comfortable, and controlled environment. We have locations in Clinton Township and Eastpointe that feature special care rooms providing safe, controlled, and customizable care for children. Some parents may find the process of entrusting their special needs children to particular dentists to be a daunting one, but our office has built a reputation over the past 40+ years for exceptional outcomes, professionalism, and care for special needs patients.

Also, many of our pediatric dentists are boarded through the Detroit Medical Center Children’s Hospital and St. John health system so that hospital dentistry can be offered under special circumstances when that would be the safest and most efficient way to manage the dental needs of a particular patient.  And, making appointments with our doctors for special needs dentistry is very simple as well: just call any of our main offices and ask for our professional and friendly staff will guide you from there.

The goal for treating patients of all kinds is pretty straightforward: to keep their mouths healthy, functional, and protected. Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontic Specialists of Michigan has expertise in providing special needs patients with the best dental and orthodontic care possible. We understand the importance of good, healthy teeth and how a healthy and functional mouth is critical for every person, no matter what the medical history reads. We are very proud of our history of offering safe, non-conventional custom treatment options for children with special needs offering the community a dental care option that is designed to put your child’s needs first.
