Everyone in the United States is knowledgeable about our military and armed forces and what it means to have people that fight for and protect freedoms for all of us. Recently, a member of the armed forces expressed gratitude to our office for how our office staff and doctors care for the children of military members.
A patient’s father presented to Dr. Curt Ralstrom a shadow box with the American flag flown in the face of our enemies overseas right before the holidays.
MAJ Carlos Lago, Defense Contract Management Agency-Detroit, presents a flag flown in Afghanistan to Dr. Curt Ralstrom, in honor of the work that Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontic Specialists of Michigan (Drs. Delaney, Plunkett, Ralstrom, Makowski, Thanasas, Ker and Associates) provides to special needs children of Military Service members.
It was a big thrill for Dr. Ralstrom, who is a pediatric dentist specializing in caring for children’s dental needs, including those patients with special needs. The child’s father, Major Lago, humbled and honored Dr. Curt and our entire office with this gift we will never forget.
“Major Lago’s son is brave in the dentist chair, and he must get it from his strong-willed father,” Dr. Ralstrom said. “When he handed me the shadow box with the American flag, especially right around the holidays when many military personnel are not around their families because of their duties, it touched me in a way I will never forget.”
