March 3-9 we are recognizing all of our wonderful staff members during Dental Assistants Recognition Week, or “DARW.” This event is sponsored through several organizations, including the American Dental Association and the American Dental Assistants Association. 
The theme for 2019 acknowledges the growing importance of dentistry’s role in health care and the responsibilities of dental assistants: “Today’s Dental Assistants – Polished, Poised & Professional”.
Dental Assistants Recognition Week honors not-only chair-side dental assistants, but dental receptionists, teachers, insurance professionals, and salespeople associated with the provision of dental services. Each of these people play vital roles in our practice to ensure we provide you and your family members and friends the best possible patient care experience.
Dental assistants play a very important role in our office. They help to make your appointments, provide chair-side assistance, and they work with you or your child to help make the experiences in a dental chair comfortable as they prepare for dental procedures. They provide educational and informative communications to patients and parents to help extend the understanding of what we are doing, why we are doing it, and how our patients responded during the procedures.
The significant effort our team of dental assistants make throughout the year help us provide great and predictable dental care for the community. They are an integral part of our office and allow us to provide the variety of quality dental procedures we are known for.
We are exceptionally proud of the office staff we have assembled through the years because so many of them have served their entire career with us serving our patients and our community. The doctors take pride in the fact that so many have remained with us for decades, some totaling 40+ years! The longevity of our staff bolsters our ability to make sure our dental care and patient experiences are consistent.
Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontic Specialists of Michigan is extremely proud of the committed team of dental professionals we have working with us and we feel privileged to work side by side with them in caring for you and your loved ones! During this special week, we would like to recognize and say thank you to our incredible dental team. Their job is essential for making your experience here a positive one, and we appreciate everything they do on a daily basis! We will be celebrating with our team by raffling prizes, bringing in special treats and meals for their break room, and other fun activities.
